Jessie shows us Urban Living in the Lou!

Jessie’s Entry:

My love for the City of St. Louis has grown from my never-ending passion for the Urban Living Experience. When I was looking for my first apartment after college, my main requirements were pretty simple: hardwood floors, exposed brick, and a close proximity to nightlife. That search lead me to my first loft apartment on Washington Avenue. July of 2003 was when I first moved in, and I have been here and loving it ever since. As I have gotten older my tastes have changed; I now prefer a more finished living space and I can’t stay out as late as I used to, but one thing remains the same: the City of St. Louis is the love of my life.

I have been lucky enough to be a part of the Downtown Revitalization from the very beginning and can’t see myself living anywhere else. My work experience in real estate development has given me unbelievable access to the most spectacular historic buildings in town. I was lucky enough to help groom vacant, lonely, forgotten buildings into spectacular, unique homes and workspaces filled with excitement and progression. I want to bring that feeling to the former Dillard’s building and be a part of transforming it into the fabulous Laurel it is meant to be. Being a St. Louis gal is the trait that most defines me, so let me tell you why.

Everyone knows that we have the best food, beer, and baseball you could ever find; but come on, that’s stating the obvious, we offer SO much more. In this city you get to experience all 4 seasons, you can live really well for your money, and it’s a great place to raise a family. We have tons of soul, lots of style, and crazy amounts of swagger. There is amazing culture all around us….check out the great music scene, our fantastic museums and theaters, all of the up and coming designers, and endless festivals. I could go on and on about the great places I go and the fun things I do, but all of that means nothing without the #1 reason why I love St. Louis so much: The People. My fellow St. Louisans are amazing; we have camaraderie, value tradition, and have each other’s back no matter what. We work hard, play harder, and are always ready to do it all over again the next day. Thanks to the friends that I have made here, I’ve had more good times than any girl should ever be allowed to have. I sincerely hope to be your Lovin the Lou Ambassador because I truly want to share my passion for this great city and I will do whatever I can to make St. Louis proud.
